Naveen and Mounika’s Knockdown Rebuild in the Heart of Adelaide

Building a dream home is always about more than just bricks and mortar, it’s about putting down roots in a place to call you own.

For Simonds customers, Naveen and Mounika, that journey began with an exciting, but daunting decision: to knock down their original 1960s 3-bedroom weatherboard home and start afresh on their spacious block, just 20 minutes from Adelaide’s CBD.

They chose to build the Highett 29 with the Newland facade — a contemporary design from the Elevate range that has breathed new life into their block. With a clear vision, they set out to overhaul their outdated floorplan and interiors with a home designed for modern living.

Following demolition, construction commenced in September. By March, they were already approaching their PCI stage, and are now nearing the exciting milestone of Settlement and Handover.

Their story, however, starts long before the build.

Having moved to Australia 8 years ago, they were driven by a desire to create a better life for their children. After witnessing their own parents’ struggles, they were driven to provide more opportunities for their next generation.

That dream began to feel within reach when they met their New Home Specialist, Sid Lakhina, at the Simonds Riverlea Display Centre

“The way he spoke to us and explained in detail the knockdown rebuild process made us realise we could achieve our dream of a beautiful home on our big lot of land in Australia,” Naveen says.

From that moment, the path forward became clear. After touring the Highett 29 display, they instantly connected with the home’s layout and thoughtful design — confident it would support their family’s needs for years to come.

But their decision to build with Simonds came down to more than just the home itself.

“The reason we went with Simonds was due to the unique designs, their customisation options, and the main thing — the service received from the New Home Specialists and how they helped you from the very start,” they both say.

While a knockdown rebuild can often feel overwhelming, their experience proved otherwise.

“Knocking down a house and rebuilding is a big task, but it feels easy through Simonds,” they say.

Throughout the journey, the support and guidance they received helped turn what could have been a stressful process into an exciting and rewarding one.

“It’s an absolute dream for me to live in our new house and Simonds gave us a lot of confidence and made the journey very easy,” Mounika says.

Now, as they approach their exciting move-in day, they’re excited to get the keys to their next chapter.
