Berwick, 3806

The premium performer

Berwick is a popular suburb in the south-east of Melbourne, 41km from the city centre. The early settlers saw the appeal of Berwick, with its first subdivision taking place back in 1854. Berwick also served as a resting point for travellers between Melbourne and Gippsland. Today Berwick is a thriving suburb with fabulous facilities and amenities and is a great place to call home. It really is a premium suburb of the south-east of Melbourne.

Berwick is a pretty town, with wide streets, historic buildings, plenty of trees, great parks, playgrounds and recreation facilities. This is a great option if you want to live in a well-established area away from the hustle and bustle of inner Melbourne.

It is located at the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges, a large green belt of residential homes and national parks. The Berwick Springs Wetland is a popular nature reserve for those looking for a local oasis.

Berwick’s train station takes you into the city centre in less than an hour. A drive up the Princes Freeway into Melbourne takes just 35 minutes. Another drawcard for Berwick is its health care, with Monash Health’s Casey Hospital located in the heart of the suburb.

Berwick offers a wonderful selection of amenities for families, such as childcare centres, kindergartens, primary and secondary schools. You really are spoiled for choice in this fantastic suburb. Berwick has two great options for tertiary studies with Federation University and Chisholm TAFE in the suburb.

There are many opportunities to become involved in the community of Berwick, with a large selection of community groups and activities, as well as many successful local sporting clubs.

Berwick has fabulous shopping. Renowned for its car dealerships that Melbourne residents flock to, Berwick also has all the major supermarket chains and large shopping centres. Or, for something smaller, visit one of the many local shopping strips for the village feel.
