MELBOURNE REGION

A charming town with a wonderful lifestyle awaits

If it’s a tree-change that you are craving, then look no further than the historic town of Bacchus Marsh. Conveniently located between the three largest cities in Victoria, Melbourne, Geelong and Ballarat, this is a charming town that provides a wonderful lifestyle.

Built on a rich fertile valley, Bacchus Marsh is renowned for its Market Garden agricultural land, producing bountiful fruits and vegetables. 50km north-west of Melbourne, the town is surrounded by state and national parks and extensive waterways. Weekends will never be dull with this much green space and water to enjoy right at your doorstep.

Bacchus Marsh is very charming. The Avenue of Honour greets you as you enter, planted to remember the lives lost in World War One, this avenue of elm, oak and plane trees provides a stunning entrance to this country town. The Lerderderg and Werribee Rivers run through the town, providing great options for picnics with shared walking and bike paths.

In the town centre, you will feel relaxed with wide open tree-lined streets giving you that sense of space and slowing you down. Historic church buildings and old shop fronts add to the charm.

Bacchus Marsh certainly is a lovely town in terms of aesthetics and has a tight-knit community. The Bacchus Marsh Village is well serviced with supermarkets and specialist shops. A great selection of government and non-government primary and secondary schools are on offer, including the prestigious Bacchus Marsh Grammar School, meaning you don’t have to travel for good quality education.

Bacchus Marsh is the largest commuter town on the Ballarat-Melbourne train line, with the Ararat line also passing through to Melbourne.
