The final stage of the build process, the post-build phase covers the last steps before moving into your brand new home.
WHAT TO EXPECT
This is the moment you've been waiting for – your dream home is built and is almost ready for you to move in. Once you get to this post-build phase, a settlement meeting will be arranged to organise final documentation, warranty and of course, your keys.
Inspection, settlement and handover
As your move in day approaches, you'll meet with your dedicated Customer Relationship Consultant (CRC) for a Practical Completion Inspection (PCI) and key handover meeting. They will walk you through each room of your house, checking all features, fittings and fixtures. This will include checking:
- Hot water system
- Heating and cooling system
- Structure and walls
- Light fittings
- Window and floor coverings
- Locks, keys, electric garage doors
Upon the inspection completion and the confirmation of your final payment, the property title will be settled and transferred to you, which is when you're handed the keys to your new home. Here, you'll also have the opportunity to complete an offical handover report where you have the opportunity to comment on your Simonds experience.
Maintenance and SimCare
Once you're in your new home, our industry leading SimCare program begins. The program includes a three-month warranty and seven-year structural guarantee, plus a guide with best practice tips and recommendations to keep your new home beautiful and safe long after your move in day.
After living in the home for three months, you can complete a Post Construction Warranty Form so we can rectify any completed work that needs fixing. The seven-year structural guarantee covers things like concrete foundations and structural brickwork.
For any maintenance work, we have a full time Maintenance Customer Relationship Coordinator who will ensure that all rectification is carried out in a timely manner, with as minimal disruption as possible.
